Description of the product
DataScope is a Microsoft Windows application that enables the user to visually analyse the contents of an arbitrary database and extract the knowledge hidden behind the numbers. The software provides unique tools to explore the internal relations in the data. It is an excellent tool for managers and their staff, for consultants, analysts, scientists and more. Operational, financial, customer, product, scientific and other databases can be examined to unveil hidden challenges, opportunities and solutions. DataScope exploits the fact that visual information is more under-standable. Data and relationships are displayed graphically in real time for the user to understand, manipulate and discover. Relational diagrams allow easy trend, pattern and exception recognition. Context-dependent visualization makes simple to translate the numbers to subjective opinions. Numeric information is also preserved, which means that DataScope can handle the job of traditional statistical and database query systems, too. The system allows the examination of both global statistical information and individual data records at the same time and from many viewpoints synchronously. No formulas or commands are required to query the database: all such operations are done with the mouse. By using DataScope, insights can quickly go from very broad hypotheses to very specific ones that can lead to action.
The company and the team
Cygron was founded in 1993 by university researchers, software engineers and a quality assurance expert. Using advanced techniques in artificial intelligence (neural networks, genetic and ID3 algorithms, fuzzy sets), it develops products for Executive Information Systems (data visualization, data mining, forecasting) and Decision Support (preference and utility-based multicriteria decisions, group decisions, optimization techniques). The mission of the company is to apply the latest results of mathematics in practical life, hiding complex algorithms behind user-friendly interfaces. The research results are used in both products and custom development projects. It has developed software applications that allow its customers to save money on their purchase commitments, to understand their customer data, and to optimize their operations.
