Description of the product
ArchiCAD for TeamWork is a complex building modeler and simulator that optimally combines the ease of use of popular personal computers with the powerful functionality of professional CAD (computer-aided design) systems. The ArchiCAD modeling paradigm is based on real-life architectural elements. ArchiCAD integrates various information about building components in its database making it possible to design, present, document and manage building projects using the same software. ArchiCAD for TeamWork allows architects to work together on a three-dimensional building project in a flexible, intelligent and secure way. Architects can sign into a project from an unlimited number of workstations, even through the Internet, and define their workspaces within the "Virtual Building" which they are responsible for. The whole building project is transparent for each team member and they can regularly refresh the project with changes made by other members. The administration system allows for very simple and flexible team structures, alternatively, highly centralized and hierarchical division of labour can also be coordinated.
The company and the team
Based in Budapest, Hungary, Graphisoft was founded in 1982. The company was the first in the world to develop 3D modeling technology on inexpensive personal computers. Graphisoft identified architectural design firms as the most responsive market to this competitive advantage and the 19 language versions of its flagship product, ArchiCAD are now used by over 35,000 architects in more than 80 countries. The company is the 5th A/E/C (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) CAD software vendor in the world.
