The base for the research in the Transdanubian Region which is a typical rural area and where the importance of food-industry is bigger than the national average. The economical position of the region is weeker than the national average and it is continually becoming worse. The improvement of the agricultural sector is the basic aim of the area’s development. The research work aims at – in the interest of the restraint of the relative underdevelopment – revealing the ecological, economical branch and local (national) endowments of the area, as well as the qualitative, market and economical-social needs.

If we take into consideration, all the above mentioned factors, the arm of the research is to work out alternative rural development product-innovation and marketing strategies, models, as well as some animal- and plant-production cost and profit optimizing modules which make use of the comparative advantages of the area.
