Short description of the research:
The polyolefins suffer some chemical changes during processing and application, which results in modifications of the physical and mechanical properties of the polymer. In the frame of the research program the mechanism of polyolefin degradation in absence and in presence of different additives is studied. The role of the environmental conditions (temperature, shear and presence of oxygen during processing; temperature and contacting medium during application) is investigated in details. The aim of the work is the understanding of the basic factors influencing the type and extent of chemical reactions of polyolefins for the optimizing the additive packages.
