Projekt No. T 037838
The role of viral antigens, growth factors and adhesion molecules
in the progression of chronic hepatitis (2002-2005)
The main aspect of the research project is to study the role played
by viral antigens, certain growth factors, as well as adhesion
molecules in chronic hepatitis. The mode of HCV expression
(components, localization) is examined in the liver during the
course of chronic HCV infection. The expression of certain
growth factors and their receptors (TGF-alpha, HGF, TGF-beta)
is also investigated. Furthermore, the assumed HCV receptor,
CD81, is subjected to studies in respect to its detection,
degree of expression and internalization.
