Application of geographical information systems (in land evaluation studies and in land use planning); giving workshops on GIS; application of remote sensing (in digital land use mapping from satellite images, land degradation mapping based on areal photographs); research on soil erosion (field measurements, mapping and erosion modelling); research on agricultural pollution; geoecological basic and applied research, with special reference to lake ecosystems; land capability analysis (models in plotting agricultural landscape potentials); climate change (survey of aridity reflected in the changes of the physical landscape factors).
