Assessment of pesticide side-effects on natural enemies and its
possible use for species separation
There is practically no information on the pesticide tolerance of the
recently recognized Chrysoperla species and also their
identification is problematic. The following research project would
be of importance for IPM:
1. Testing of pesticides on natural enemies (different sibling
species of the Chrysoperla carnea complex, Cocccinella
septempunctata, etc.) to find selective preparations and save them
from pesticide applications.
2. Measuring of AChE activity of the sibling species of Ch. carnea
complex to distinguish them from each other (possibility of a
biochemical species separation).
3. Study of the European distribution of the Ch. carnea complex.
