The role of gene expression in chronic neurological diseases: animal model experiments

1. Cell types of the CNS which undergo plastic changes and lasting gene expression or degeneration in acute and chronic seizures – immunihistochemical and in situ hybridization studies in laboratory rats.

2. Gene expression in different cell types of the CNS (mainly glia and endothelium) in models of chronic neurodegenerative diseases.

3. The role of the immune system in the control of CNS gene expression.
