Genome Metabolism and Repair

The focus of my laboratory is Genome Metabolism and Repair. We aim to identify and characterise those protein factors which are crucial in these processes and show the promise to be exploited in new and innovative therapeutic applications against different forms of cancer and infectious diseases. Using tools of genomics and proteomics, we recently identified the enzyme family of dUTPases as a unique preventive DNA repair factor involved in programmed cell death, and are presently exploring the dUTPase potential.
