New complex method for investigation of cardio-and

cerebrovascular impairment before and after pharmacotherapy on

vascular-risk and vascular patients

The complex methods of our lab are useful for parallel investigations of cardiovascular system and cerebrovascular hemodynamics (non-invasively, using transcranial Doppler) at rest and after physiological stimulation (cycling ergometer) or chemostimulation (CO2 or diamox stimulation). Neuropsychological tests belong also to the evaluation (cognition, reaction time, attention deficit etc.) The complex system enables us to investigate patients living in high risk for cardio-or cerebrovascular diseases (diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, TIA , sotroke or post-stroke condition).

Clinically symptom free risk patients could be screened and those with cardio- or cerebrovascular impairment could be selected. The method is also useful for investigating of clinical effect of drugs acting on cardiac- or cerebral vasculature and cognitive performance (antihypertensive, antidiabetic, lipid-idrugs, antidepressants etc.) The recent results have already been published and we are looking for partners involved in basic or clinical research of vascular diseases or pharma companies producing antihypertensive, cardiac or cerebrovascular drugs.
