New metal complexes as bleach catalysts

1. We are synthesizing new metal complexes which act as bleach catalysts.

Bleach catalysts are used in detergents to accelerate oxidation of colored dirt components

by peroxygen compounds. We study the rate and mechanism of bleaching reactions to improve the efficiency of catalysis.

2. The new complexes are tested in the oxidative decomposition of environmental pollutants, such as chlorophenols.
