Researchers' Proposals

Proposed research activity area includes mainly (communal wastewater-) sludge processing through the thermophyllic pathway (liqid phase ATAD process and coposting) : process performance is mainly followed experimentally via gaseous metabolite detection ( O2 respiration, CO2 and NH3 generation) and interpreted by advanced mathematical models (ASM1) and simulation tools (GPS-X).

Resulting conclusions identify feasibility of non conventional solutions in the operation (shortened feed cycles and multistaged reactors). In the composting technology research results allow reactor space -(eg. investment cost), energy and material saving modifications and simple recycling of valuable nutrient components.

Results in biological odour removal (solvent vapours of industrial origin too) are also presented.
